Report Estimates Buc-ee’s Would Cost Local Districts $600,000 a Year
Tri-Lakes Preservation and The Community Voice released a fiscal analysis on Tuesday, sixteen days before El Paso County’s commissioners hear Buc-ee’s appeal.
It estimates that a travel center on Monument Hill would leave local governments and districts about $602,000 a year worse off, and the county and the region’s transportation authority with tens of millions more in one-off infrastructure.
The estimate turns on a projected fall in the value of surrounding homes.
